You guys are speaking of "The Sleeper Berth Provision" for interstate truck drivers, not bus drivers. Bus drivers do not use the 11/14 HOS Rules.

Info was updated but not changed regarding this provision by FMCSA as of 14 Dec 2014. The regs can be seen at:https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/hours-service/summary-hours-service-regulations

Its use is not common practice because you must watch your calculations, but it is a viable option when you are low on hours & want to make it to your destination, legally. (8 in SB .....drive...then "2" Off Duty, SB or 1SB-1OD/or vice versa) or ("2" OD, SB or 1SB-1OD/or vice versa ....drive...then 8 SB). Hours before and after the 1st rest period must not exceed 11 Hours.

It could be giving you a split sleeper berth. It would be best to get into a chat sesssion and have a techician look at the log. Also be good to know if you're set to the correct jurisdiction.

Go to www.logbook.com and click on the CHAT NOW button on the right side of the home back to connect with a technician that can take a look.

Thank you and have a great day!

14 hour rule

I drove for 5 hours took 8 hour sleeper how long can I drive for log book said 6 hours dose that not put u over 14 hour rule
